Bara Bhangal trek

The first thing that comes to mind when talking about Bara Bhangal is the difficulty of this trek. Accustomed with steep ascents, high altitudes and harsh weather the trek is pretty difficult to complete. The trail is 30 km long and takes about 13 days to complete in which 12 days are spent in trekking. The weather is suitable during the months of May to October with temperatures roaming around 4 degree Celsius to 18 degree Celsius. The Bara Bhangal trek is set between the Kullu Valley and Dharamshala which is surprisingly one of the lesser sought out trail in the Western Himalayan region. The trek moves through an altitude from 6,200 ft at Manali to 15,584 ft at the Kalihani Pass and also through another 15,749 ft above the mean sea level at Thamsar Pass which is the highest altitude you’ll reach trekking in the Bara Bhangal.

The trek is enriched with thick alpine forests and lush greenery with a variety of plant and animal species in it. As you ascend you’ll literally see the difference with the snow taking over and everything turning white as the mountains will be covered in snow. Since the trek is considered difficult by trekkers it is important for the newcomers to take on fitness classes and preparing their physical health before taking on this beautiful adventure in the Western Himalayas.  Good stamina is extremely important for completing the Bara Bhangal trek and not being left behind in the group. The terrain is rough as you ascend and requires a trained guide and a team of mountaineers to ensure the safety of trekkers. The trek however has the most astounding hangover of Himalayas to offer the trekkers.
